Doug Hutchison grew up in the farm country of Central Missouri where at an early age he developed a passion for archery and chasing big whitetails. With an inherent sense of adventure, it didn't take long for his passion of bowhunting to expand from chasing whitetails in the Midwest to annual DIY trips out west for elk, mule deer, antelope and anything else that he could draw tags for. Along with hunts out west, Doug tries to slip in as many trips to Alaska, Canada and Africa as time, family and money allows.
During the offseason, Doug enjoys scouting, fishing, coaching his two kids in sports and competing at local, state and regional 3D competitions. Along with this, he also finds time to teach Bowhunter Education as well as giving seminars on everything from "advanced bow tuning " to "hunting mature whitetails on public land."
Doug says that one of the many lessons he has learned in the past 30-plus years of bowhunting is that confidence breeds success. "You have to use equipment that is tough and dependable." Whether he's hunting a trophy of a lifetime or shooting for a state championship, Doug uses Trophy Taker products because they have never let him down.
